Black mustard (Brassica nigra). Different varieties of mustard—among the oldest recorded spices, with Sanskrit records dating back to about 3000 B.C.—are native to temperate regions of Europe. A pesticide from the hulls of mustard seeds can be generated as a coproduct of mustard biodiesel.
