Aerial herbicide applications are often used by land management agencies to control invasive melaleuca trees on large, remote areas of the Everglades. If not controlled, the melaleuca trees in the foreground will soon invade the sawgrass-dominated area in the background, which is more representative of the way the Everglades looks before melaleuca invasion.
