At the Eastern Regional Research Center in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, ARS technician Kim Baxendale examines a Civil War-era flag with digital image analysis equipment. The flag was on loan from the Cape May County Historical Museum in New Jersey and dates back to 1862-65.
