After being stung by an adult wasp, oblique-banded leafroller caterpillars spin extra-thick webbing that provides a winter home for the wasps. A cocoon like the one in the background was opened to reveal a leafroller (about 2 centimeters long) being consumed by wasp larvae (foreground).
