Anniversary Celebration |

Theresa Bailey of the Employee Advisory Committee (EAC)
coordinated the AFM celebration. Lisa Baldus of the Financial Management
Division was our Guest Speaker. We watched the video followed by cake
and punch. We had about 40-50 attendees.
On November 2, 2003, Agricultural Research Service (ARS)
turns 50 years old. As noted in Dr. Knipling's September 5, 2003, e-mail
to all employees, ARS as a Government entity can be traced back to the
19th century, but in 1953, it became ARS. AFM has come a long way during
this time as well, and we want to take this opportunity to honor and recognize
your contribution to the achievements of ARS through the administrative
and financial management support you provide.
On November 3, 2003, AFM is participating in the "virtual"
Agency-wide ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary with the rest of
ARS. AFM is sponsoring two events as follows:
Downtown: 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Patio of the Jamie L. Whitten
Federal Building *
GWCC: 2 p.m., Conference Room 3-1160
Along with a guest speaker, a short video highlighting many of ARS achievements
will be shown, and you will receive a "surprise" in recognition
of your hard work and dedication to the ARS mission.
Please plan to attend the 50th Anniversary events and share in the celebration!
* For the downtown celebration, AFM extends an invitation to the Headquarters
offices and staffs to attend as well.
Thank you.
