Re-grow germplasm periodically to maintain viable seeds of more than 18,000 accessions http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/stats/genusgeo.pl?Oryza in the USDA rice world collection for public use, and more than 33,000 accessions in the Genetic Stocks Oryza Collection (GSOR) http://www.ars.usda.gov/Main/docs.htm?docid=8318 and evaluate 32 characteristics http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/desc_form.pl?75 to enrich the genebank in the Germplasm Resources Information Network (GRIN) http://www.ars-grin.gov/.
