Welcome!

Damage from insects and other arthropods costs farmers and consumers many millions of dollars annually. Host-plant resistance is one management tool that can be and has been used to limit damage and loss from pest arthropods.

The International Plant Resistance to Insects working group is an affiliation of researchers and practitioners that are advancing the development and use of plants with resistance to insects and other arthropods.

IPRI has held a biennial workshop since 1974 (see list of locations for previous workshops). The next workshop will be held in 2014, and details about it will be coming soon.

Planning of the workshops is performed by an eight-member Steering Committee.  Committee members serve a six-year term.

Lifetime Achievement Awardees  In recent years, IPRI has recognized individuals for their lifetime contributions to the science and promotion of host-plant resistance.

Plant Resistance to Pests ListServ: to keep informed of happenings related to IPRI and to network with other individuals involved in host-plant resistance, please send an email to John Reese at Kansas State University (jreese@k-state.edu) and request to be added to the Plant Resistance to Pests ListServ.
