Research Interests

·   The identification of new sources of Russian wheat aphid resistance in wheat.

·   The use of traditional plant breeding methods for the development of aphid resistant wheat cultivars.

·   The development of a set of wheat ‘Differentials’ that will be used for the identification of new Russian wheat aphid biotypes.

·   The development of aphid resistant ‘pre-breeding’ lines. Resistance is incorporated into diverse wheats from different market classes in order to be useful to other programs working on the development of wheats intended for different end-uses.

Other Interests

·    Outreach to schools and the community for promoting awareness of ARS and the research that we do.

·     The use of plant resistance in the development of sustainable agricultural systems.
