    SPECIALIZATION:

• Authority on aphid genetics in relation to aphid biotype evolution, genetic interactions

between aphid virulence and plant resistance genes, characterization of aphid biotypes and  insect resistance mechanisms in plants, aphid biology and ecology.

  Authority on pesticide mechanisms-of-action and pesticide bioassays for traditional

   and novel insecticidal materials, pathogenic fungi, and biocontrol agents.

  Co-inventor of particle film technology (10 patents) for insect and disease control that  has been transferred to the commercial marketplace and is currently a successful crop protectant   (Surround ™WP) utilized in many different crops.

  Co-inventor of sugar ester technology (2 patents) that has been registered with the U.S.

EPA and is used commercially as insecticide for agricultural use (Sucrocide™ and Sucrashield™, Naturalforces, Davidson, NC).
