Before joining the USDA-ARS, Dr. Wang was tenured professor at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and co-director of graduate programs in soil water climate and water resources sciences. His areas of research include environmental fate, transport, and efficacy of methyl bromide alternatives in pre-plant soil fumigation; hydraulic properties of porous media (soils and soilless substrates); irrigation water and solute transport in porous media under different environmental and climatic conditions; and remote sensing of evaporation and crop water use. |
|
His current projects are to develop sustainable and environmentally sound methyl bromide alternatives and water management strategies for strawberries, grapes, and peaches using field, laboratory, and modeling studies. |
