Responsibilities

I measure genetic and phenotypic diversity in the various crops maintained by PGRCU. I operate and maintain the gas chromatograph for measuring oil composition, the HPLC for measuring various plant phytochemicals and sugars, and the NMR for measuring seed oil and moisture content. I also maintain the genetic sequencers and assist in genotyping various plant accessions. In addition, I serve as the lab manager, lab purchasing agent, and the chemical safety officer overseeing safe use and disposal of lab chemicals.
