Newell Kitchen has been selected as a Fellow of the Soil Science Society of America in 2008. Soil Sciency Society of America (SSSA) Fellow Awards are for members of the Society who have been nominated by other members of the Society to receive the honor of Fellow. Fellow is the highest recognition bestowed by the SSSA. The award is based on achievements in scholarly research, teaching, extension, and industrial education. Leadership and service within SSSA are also significant considerations. Only up to 0.3 percent of each Society's Active and Emeritus Members may be elected to Fellow each year. 2008 Fellows will be honored at the Annual Meeting October 5-9, 2008 in Houston, Texas.
