A New Name and a Broader Mission

The National Laboratory for Agriculture and the Environment replaces the National Soil Tilth Laboratory. This renaming was done to broaden the mission and to more properly indicate the scope of research that was been conducted within the laboratory as part of the ARS family of research sites.

Upcoming Stakeholder Workshop

In February 2010 the NLAE will host a stakeholder workshop as a means of communicating to different groups the research progress that has been made in the past two years. This workshop will be conducted in Ames using a combination of poster and oral presentations about the ongoing research program. A portion of the program will be devoted to discussions about the information gaps in different areas and where research information is needed to fill in the gaps.
