Welcome to the Sugarbeet and Bean Research Unit

                        apples, beet, beans

 

Our research unit is located on the campus of Michigan State University at East Lansing, Michigan. Our research programs address priority issues in: 1) genetics, breeding, and diseases of sugarbeet; 2) genetics, breeding, and quality and utilization of dry bean; and 3) engineering technologies for quality measurement and grading of fruits and vegetables. The sugarbeet & bean research programs are adjunct with the Departments of Crop & Soil Science and Plant Pathology, and they are housed in the Plant & Soil Sciences Building. The engineering research program is adjunct with the Department of Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering in Farrall Hall.
