Bacterial Foodborne Pathogens and Mycology Research Unit

The focus of the Bacterial Foodborne Pathogens and Mycology research unit is to produce the information and molecular tools needed to enhance food safety and crop production in the U.S. and around the world.

Researchers in this unit generate and use information from genetics, microbiology, chemistry, and plant biology to conduct fundamental and applied research and to develop new detection and analysis technologies.

The impact of this research is recognizable through the development of novel approaches to limit mycotoxin contamination, control foodborne diseases, and improve crop production.
