The mission of the research farm is to promote research of farming practices that sustain small and medium sized farms and promote conservation of soil and water resources. We organized in the community of Madison, South Dakota in 1959 and are now located in Brookings, South Dakota. Farm management is by USDA-ARS North Central Agricultural Research Laboratory (NCARL).
