Area IV Logo On February 19th, the Northern Great Plains Research Laboratory and Area 4 Soil Conservation Districts will present the results of their 2012 research beginning with a noon lunch at Mandan’s Seven Seas Conference Center.

In addition to reviewing what happened on the research farm this year and why, the USDA Agricultural Research Service scientists will discuss the impact of removing crop residue, soil health research and why crop diversity is important, transitioning grasslands to cropland, integrating livestock and crop enterprises, bioethanol production using energy beets, advanced techniques for tracking nitrogen, and the new Long-Term Agro-Ecosystem Research (LTAR) Network under development.

Certified Crop Advisors may earn 3.5 continuing education hours (Nutrient Management: 1; Soil & Water Management: 1; Crop Management: 1.5) by attending.
