Salmon Study

Why are we doing this study?


Looking at the effects of omega-3-fish consumption.


Who is eligible for this study?

  • Men and women age 40-65
  • Must not be pregnant or lactating
  • Must be a nonsmoker
  • Must be free of any major medical conditions
  • Must not be a regular fish consumer
  • Must not be taking fish oil or flax supplements
  • Must not be using prescription or over-the-counter steroids or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin

What is required of me for this study?

Study is 5-8 months long, depending on the length of washout period between treatments. You will be given 3 ozs of cooked salmon to eat twice a week for 3 periods involving 4 weeks. In between each of the three periods, you will have a flexible washout period of 4 to 8 weeks where you will not eat salmon and you could leave town.

There will be blood draws and x-rays done.

You could earn up to $150.
