Mission:

The mission of the PSL is to provide support for the following functions as required for WHNRC studies:  assessment of standard physiological functions:  body composition, bone density, human performance, and energy expenditure.

 

 

Staff & Facility:

The PSL has 2 staff Physiologists, and occupies 4 rooms (a main equipment room, a DEXA room, a BodPod room, and a metabolic testing room.  The WHNRC also has a whole body calorimeter. 

 

  

Equipment & Instrumentation:

The PSL instrumentation includes bio-electrical impedance, DEXA, and BodPod instruments for body composition and bone density measures metabolic carts to measure metabolic rate, and a selection of heart rate and activity monitoring tools.  PSL has treadmills, a bicycle ergometer, and weight stacks for research purposes for subject training.
