Historical Perspectives of Appalachian Agriculture

The Appalachian Region has a rich agricultural heritage and the Appalachian Farming System Research Center (AFSRC) is proud to have been a part of that heritage for more than twenty-five years. In order to help preserve a part of that heritage AFSRC maintains this website of pictures, video documentaries, and narratives. We look forward to your contributions of pictures and stories. Anything agricultural (people working the land, livestock, food preparation, harvest celebrations, barn raisings, cultural practices, farm tools and machinery, anecdotes, etc.) are welcome. All contributions will be returned along with a cd-rom of any digital files created.

Your contributions can be submitted to:

Doug Boyer (Doug.Boyer@ars.usda.gov) at Appalachian Farming Systems Research Center, 1224 Airport Road, Beaver, WV 25813.
