Our Jobs

Employment opportunities within the Agricultural Research Service are many and challenging. Our permanent positions are filled by scientists with educational backgrounds in the life, physical, and engineering sciences. ARS also employs professional, technical, administrative, and clerical staff in various occupational areas, as well as student and summer employees.

At this Research Unit our scientists have backgrounds in Chemistry, Agricultural Engineering, Microbiology, and Textile Science.  Other backgrounds will be sought as needed.  In addition to the scientific effort at this unit we employ laboratory technicians in the areas of Chemistry, Biology, and Fiber Science and machinery operators to operate our commercial scale pilot spinning laboratory.
