Employment opportunities within the Agricultural Research Service are many and challenging. Our permanent positions are filled by scientists with educational backgrounds in the life, physical, and engineering sciences. ARS also employs professional, technical, administrative, and clerical staff in various occupational areas, as well as student interns and summer employees.

The Soybean and Nitrogen Fixation Research Unit employs scientists and technicians with backgrounds in agronomy, plant genetics and breeding, plant phsiology, plant pathology, and biochemistry.
