Employment opportunities within the Agricultural Research Service are many and challenging. Our permanent positions are filled by scientists with educational backgrounds in the life, physical, and engineering sciences. ARS also employs professional, technical, administrative, and clerical staff in various occupational areas, as well as student and summer employees.
Current Job Openings
Normally we have several temporary positions available in the spring and summer months that are ideal for high school and college students interested in the biological sciences. Positions typically involve a combination of outdoor fish husbandry activities coupled with indoor laboratory duties related to microbiology, physiology, nutrition, and analytical chemistry. If you're interested in biology and how it relates to fish farming, stop by the Center or call 870-673-4483. Summer jobs are popular so it's best to inquire early in the year.
The Dale Bumpers National Rice Research Center and the University of Arkansas Rice Research & Extension Center are close by, you may want to check them out also.
