- Research Nutritionist, Research Associate, (Post-Doc)
The incumbent will conduct research investigating the effects of dietary fats, physical exercise, trace element seleniumn and their interactions in secondary tumorigenesis. Specifically, the incumbent will plan and conduct experiments, interpret results and prepare research reports for oral and written presentation, and have primary responsibility for developing and using various biochemical, cellular and molecular biological techniques to conduct experiments with animal and in vitro models, as appropriate, for testing specific hypothesis. - Biological Science Laboratory Technician
There are two Biological Science Laboratory Technician (BSLT) vacancies at the USDA-ARS, Northern Plains Area, Grand Forks Human Nutrition Research Center, located in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The first vacancy is in the Dietary Prevention of Obesity-Related Disease Research Unit. The purpose of this position is to provide technical support in conducting cell, animal, and human experiments and performing a variety of molecular biology/biochemical assays to determine the effects of anticancer nutrients on physiological function and cancer risk. The second vacancy is located in the Healthy Body Weight Research Unit with emphasis on healthy body weight research. The purpose of this position is to provide technical support in conducting research in the areas of epigenetics, DNA methylation, chromatin remodeling and non-coding RNAs as they apply to obesity.
