Specific technology transfer activities in 2004:

December 15-16, 2004 – Meeting with Director and Extension Personnel, Edisto Education and Research Center, Blackville, SC. (Clapham)

December 13-16, 2004 – ICARDA (International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas) – Tunis, Tunisia/USDA/USAID.  Evaluation of a project on Biodiversity, Cultural, and Economic Value of Medicinal, Herbal, and Aromatic Plants in Southern Tunisia.  Evaluation performed from December 11-18.  Meeting with stakeholders and Ministry of Agriculture. Report with achievements and pitfalls presented on January 15, 2005. (Ferreira)

December 2004 – Attended presentations and helped grade class projects for the agroforestry course at Virginia Tech. (Feldhake)

December 2004 – Co-authored a problem statement write-up with Drs. Mimi Williams and Mary Beth Hall concerning future ARS research with legumes.  The write-up was a follow-up to the Forage and Native Legume Workshop held in Chicago, IL.  (Neel)

November 20, 2004 – Invited presentation on Nutrition, Parasite Control, and Research Update, Saline County Illinois 4-H, Goat Producers, and Veterinarians, Harrisburg, IL. (Turner)
