Area 4 Soil Conservation Districts of North Dakota support a collaborative effort with the Northern Great Plains Research Laboratory to provide land to research conservation tillage and cropping systems on farmer-sized fields on a long-term basis.
Through this relationship significant conservation research has been accomplished that has supported major changes in agricultural production systems throughout the region.
Research Farm Objectives and Goals:
Conserve soil and water resources.
Study conservation tillage systems.
Improve water conservation and soil erosion control technology.
Research on field-sized plots.
Identify research needs through the advisory committee and agricultural community.
Promote the adoption and use of research findings.
