To accomplish the mission of the Poultry Processing and Swine Physiology Research Unit scientists are working in cooperation with regulatory personnel (FSIS, APHIS), poultry and red meat companies, and university faculty and graduate students.
Since 1974, the Swine Physiology research program has provided a forum for collaboration between USDA and scientists at University of Georgia, Iowa State University, industry, and the National Pork Board and Georgia Pork Producers Association. Swine Physiology scientists hold faculty appointments at the University of Georgia.
