The Foodborne Contaminants Research Unit conducts research to enhance food security and safety by improving existing methodologies and developing new technologies for analysis of pathogens, prions, and toxins. We validate these technologies and transfer this knowledge to the scientific community, the food industry, and regulatory agencies, where implementation impacts the security and safety of the US food supply.
